Stainless steel pumps are better designed for applications requiring greater chemical and abrasion resistance, while aluminum and anodized aluminum pumps have moderate corrosion and abrasion resistance
In this case, the PTFE or other common diaphragm material is replaced with a special metal alloy specific to the application to achieve higher pressures than more typical materials.
The diaphragm’s metal construction also handles tough chemicals like abrasives, slurries, and other special requirements compound more easily and reliably than its normal version.
